I know that there are many antivirus and security softwares out there, but which of the 2 popular ones is better and more reliable?
Dell comes with Norton and Gateway comes with McAfee.
Which is better? McAfee or Norton?

both good but mcafee uses up alot of virtual memory and takes longer on startup i use symantec seperate antvirus and firewall very easy to use programs that work really quickly

Norton by far, I have tried all the others, always end up back with Norton. Go to ebay can get a legal copy of Norton 2007 for about 16 bucks plus shipping.

To be honest, neither one is great. I would suggest using AVG which is free and works better than both Norton and McAfee combined. Try the free computer support site that I have listed and they will install the free program for you instantly via remote control over the Internet.

Norton, AVG, Avast are free antivirus software.

McAfee 10 with the update from the net is the best of all because it good antivirouses and antihakers indexes.
