Take advantage of the arts! We lived in Huntsville and drove to Houston to enjoy them all the time. That is one of the best things about Houston! Now that we are in a small town. I miss it so much! If you are a student (you said 21), look into student discounts
The Houston Grand Opera is fantastic. There is bound to be a show there that will appeal to you. And you don't have to worry about not understanding the language, subtitles are provided on the numerous tv's in the area. We saw Idomoneo right before we moved away.
The Houston Museum of Fine arts gorgeous and you can spend more than one day in there and not see anything. Admission is free on Thursdays.
There is also the Houston Symphony, which sometimes has outdoor performances in the park,
The ballet- ok, you are a guy so maybe not- but GREAT to take a girl to on a date, But check out the Houston Theater district. They have broadway shows, all types of performing arts, and "Theater Under the Stars".
I've attached the links for all of these below. And that is only scratching the surface. There is Nasa, there is the Houston Museum of natural science, the Holocaust Museum of Houston, Ice skating at the Galleria, ), the IMAX, and tons and tons of historical tours and places.
Try driving north and visiting the Woodlands (its like the Riverwalk in San Antonio now. They have the outdoor theater where all of the rock/country concerts are held. (can't think of the name!)
Keep going north and stop in Huntsville. Go to one of the State parks and enjoy the trails, stop off at the Huntsville cemetery and see Sam Houston's Grave and the black Jesus (it is supposed to be haunted). You can also see the Texas Prisom Museum while you are there.
I'm sorry you are bored, but I envy you. I miss Houston!

The Kemah Boardwalk is really fun in the summer. They have live bands and lots of restaurants. They even have a small gaming area and a place where you can pet stingrays. There are alot of fun places to hang out in the Clear Lake area, especially if you like the water. And when baseball season starts back up, you have to go to the Astros games. Also, have you ever been to an Aero's game? It is fun, especially if you sit up close to the rink. As far as bars and clubs, nothing beats the downtown area.

Museums, go to the museum district. Go the Warwick Hotel, have coffee, a meal or snack, people-watch from the window. Walk around the beautiful gardens at the Meacom Fountain.
When was the last time you went to the zoo? When it gets warm go to "Sam's Boat" for burgers! Buy some cowboy boots!

i lived in houston for 7 years and found it a fascinating place
houston has more restaurants per capita than any other city in the US...my fav was in channelview
houston also has a lot of small towns nearby that have at least 10 antique stores each...antiquing is a lot of fun even if you're 21 and not into buying...just looking is awesome
i have other ideas, i'll share those later

You are 21... You can either move or be smart and open up a business of something you think will be fun for you and other people and to top it off you will be making alot of money and then you can travel all you want for fun.

This happens a lot ... look at the city from a tourist view point ...It's not the places you have been but the attitude.
