Listening to the one-tone president you would be forgiven for thinking it is a new concept which needs tackling aside from all other threats.

The Spaniards, British, Indians etc have lived with this problem for years... I don't believe any of them used it as their main Foreign Policy tract.

Not to mention our own home grown bombers, McVeigh, various KKK morons, some Black Power movements... been there for generations.

No it started with PLO and has steadily grown and spread to more and more groups. If you do not wish to face it now then it will surely face you.

That it has been ignored and played down for all these years is a crime. With each year a new group is added and the tactics get more reprehensible and the attacks come more often and are more deadly.

In this age of technologies if we do not face it and deal with it we will see devastation on our shores.

I want you to save this answer. I want you to look at it every year from now on. I want you to know and not be able to deny that you were told and you turned your back.

Various types of terrorism started in the stone age. The reason you hear more about it in the Bush era is because of the Twin Towers and the Pentagon.
Home grown terrorists as you mentioned were taken care of at home. Those trained and financed by Iraq are being fought over there.
Let me ask you this. If you were president when the Towers and Pentagon were bombed. Your intelligence dept. traced the source of the terrorists to their training and financial grounds. What would you have done in answer to the murder and destruction ?

In the 72 Olympic games in Munich Islamic terroists killed several Israeli athletes and a coach. There was also the first World Trade Center bombing and the bombing of the Uss Cole during the Clinton era and please don't forget the 444 days our American people were held hostage by Iranian terroists more than likely led by the Iranian prsident who is in power today, Of course this occurred during the Carter administration. Carter turned his back on the Shah of Iran when the Islamic terroists stormed the embassy. The biggest threat to world peace is without a doubt the Islamic fascists and they must be defeated. There is no negotiating with snakes.

True Terrorism has been employed by lots of races since the first man hit the second man with a rock. It is just now being looked at as a threat as weapons get bigger and more powerfull. We need to consider those "home grown" Bombers as terrorists also.

This kind of politics was first started by Bush, the father, he has made it foreign policy and then the son has highlighted it, I would keep terrorism and american foreign policies in seperate boxes, As Bush is lying that he is fighting a war agaisnt terrorism by invading these countires.....these are all lame excuses having no base at All !!! and i would take it other way round..........Actual terrorism is what America is doing in Iraq and afghanistan....and i m sorry to say this kind of expeditions are damaging american economical as well as social body.........They have taken they step to downfall, its a gradual process but once been started then ther is no "stop" for this !!

Of course it didn't start under Bush, but not much was done about it during previous administrations including Carter, Reagan, Bush Sr., and Clinton.

Iranian Students over-ran the US Embassy in Tehran holding our people hostage for over 400 days under Carter.

Over 200 marines died in Lebanon when a car bomb collapsed the Marine barracks there during Reagan era. Reagan then pulled the troops out.

Hezbollah killed more Americans through terrorist attacks until Al Qaeda perpetrated 9-11.

Yes

Bush is the father of terrorism

We had gorillas for years. You might recall Chief Dan George referring to Jose Wales as a Gorilla fighter.

By changing the name Bush was able to also change the laws. Little things like torture.

I remember when I was a kid hearing about terrorists high jacking planes. They used guns, wore masks, corralled everyone onto the plane into one corner and demanded "X' lbs of fuel and money so they could fly to "x" location to release a political prisoner.

These activities have been occurring for a long time. The "threat" of Global Terror is a relatively new and vague concept.

I don't know is Terrorism started with Bush but he is a terror to look and listen to, he makes my skin crawl. Old Cheney sitting back there the biggest crook in the world, Hasert standing up with his foot on the wall, so fat he can't sit in the seats. I was so proud of all Liberals sitting on their hands, I felt sorry for Pelosi having to stand and clap, just to show good manners

Nope, it has been around for a long time, the only difference is that they attacked the United State of America (remember 9/11), and that made it personal. Just like the terrorists attacks on Israel (on a daily basis) both countries have every right to stop the terrorists.
