Leprechauns carry a shillelagh (a walking stick). They are too small to carry their pot o' gold!

They are full of "luck" therefore magic. It's said if you find the little guy's pot o gold and hide it, he will magically do things at your bidding to get it back. Beware though as most of whatever he gives you or gets for you ends up being "cursed".

Are you asking, "What do leprechauns carry?" Whatever they want. I've only heard about the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow thing.
