How did this affect you? Did it make you feel better or worse, and did you have a problem with mood swings until the doctors got it right. Feeling pretty low sometimes and need some advice. Thanks in advance.

I had been on HRT for a long time because of flushes and various other problems. Found it helped most things. but unfortunately had to come off after heart attack Hospital specialist said cant stay on it after problem. Now suffer the flushes, and mood swings and few other problems. but Yes I agree it was the best thing at the time.

HRT isn't for long-term use.

During menopause both your estrogen levels and your testosterone levels are fluctuating as your estrogen moves generally downwards to virtually disappear completely and your testosterone first of all drops than rebounds upwards.

You're going to have to move eventually to a testosterone, rather than estrogen-dominated hormonal balance.

Feeling low is actually a probable indication of low testosterone and normal estrogen-replacement hrt will actually make that worse.

When you're off hrt and your hormone levels eventually stabilze at a testosterone-dominant position you should feel much better, much more confident and happy with life.

I am on a low dose HRT now for about five months. I don't notice any difference except I have alot less hot flashes, they have all but disappeared. I was put on it to help prevent osteoporosis, and bone loss. Hope this helps. God bless you honey.
