How old are Edward and Alphonse?

At the start of the series (not when they have transmutated their mum, after that). I think Ed is 15 and Al is 14.

at the beginning they are 8 and 9 and at the end, they are 14 and 15 but Alphonse is 14 years old trapped in a 10 years old body.

Ed and Al are 15 and 14 respectively when the series starts. and in the movie Ed's Body is 5 years older than Al's Body. Al is still actually only 1 year younger than Ed.

it depends, in the anime time changes i.e they have flash backs from when they were kids and they were aged 7 and 8 i think, but ed is 1 year older than alphonse in the anime, but in the movie ed was 5 years older than alphonse
