My husband is a DJ in central Wisconsin and he charges $500.00 for weddings and $200.00 for a night at a bar (tavern). This includes lights and karaoke. What do you pay for a DJ where you are from?

I live in Gulf Coast Louisiana. I am president of Student Government of the school I attend. Last fall we had a student body function where I was in charge of getting the DJ. The one we hired was $275.00 for 4 hours. I think it was $45.00 per hour after that. There was no deposit. He mailed me the contract which we signed and returned. We paid the day of the event. He did a GREAT job with the music and DJ duties. They also did things like hoola-hoop contests and the limbo. We were VERY happy with them. We had a blast!

Probably about $50 an hour for basic DJing. I'm not sure about lights & karaoke. (Augusta, GA)

Same price here in Atlanta...especially if he uses his own sound equipment and CD's.
