I am having a hard time with this math question:

Write the equation of the line passing through each of the given pairs of points. (2,-3) and (2, 4)?
I do not want the anwser just some assitance on how to get the anwser.
Okay I know you have to find the slope of the set of points ,which I did and got 7/0,but I am confused on what to do next!
plz don't give me the anwser I need to understand what I am doing! Thanx!

You are having trouble interpreting your correct answer for the slope. 7/0 indicates an infinite slope ... in other words a vertical line.
That means X is always a specific value, and there are no constraints on Y. The format an equation that defines a vertical line is:

x = C (where C is a constant)

You can get the value of C from either one of the coordinate pairs you were given.

this line is a vertical line and you found that out by trying to calculate the slope. You get an undefined slope (something divided by 0) so the equation of the line in this case is x=2

Y can be any value but X=2

7/0 does not exist as a slope! Therefore the slope is infinite as that it is always changing in the verticle but not the horizontal. If you got 0/7 then the horizontal is changing all the time but not the verticle.

find the slope {m} (rise over run) or (change in Y over change in X) [In this case, (-3 - 4)/(2-2).]

then find the y-intercept, by using the y=mx+b format to solve for b...the equation can be rewritten as b = (mx)/y Plug in the info you have m & one of the sets of points to solve for b,

and then write it in y=mx+b format, replacing m & b with the numbers you found & leaving y & x as variables

This is an unusual one as the slope is infinite i.e. it is a straight line up and down!
Therefore it doesn't have a y intercept.
Just think about this one - actually draw it.

find the slope (rise over run) or (change in Y over change in X)

then find the y-intercept

and then write it in y=mx+b format.
