Why is it that so many people, the majority of people, are totally oblivious to the damage they do every day, and that that damage is multiplied by the number of ignorant people involved? Can't they see that the way society in north america operates is the best way to destroy the human race? No one cares about anyone else. People will see someone hurt on the road and drive right on by. They b*tch about being fat, and still drive a car to work. They complain about insurance, which is only a tax on idiots, instead of learning to drive safely, or changing their eating habits. If one had to fix the vehicles damaged in an accident, they would not have so many of them! If there were no doctors to cure self-inflicted diseases, they might stop eating garbage food. This world is on it's way out, and no one knows it. Do we deserve to die out because too many people just don't give a damn?

No, not mad at fat people or bad drivers--I ride a bike to work, am not fat, and could care less if I ever drive again. These are just a couple of examples to get my point across, and if you see straight truth and hard facts as anger, that's your problem. I'm not mad at anything, I think this is a valid question, I want to know why the general public is so stupid they feel the need to put "do not immerse in water" on toasters, curling irons, most electrical things. I want to know why common sense is NO LONGER COMMON. So, any real answers out there?

I know it.been knowing it.a lot of horrible things will happen before were thru, the population will be decimated ,pollution will kill of most animals in the seas.whales will die off most all dolphins, the Chinese white river dolphins was declared extinct a few weeks ago, been swimming in that river for millions of years.
I hate to say this but this planet is doomed.
pollution, global warming. nuclear war.over population, I don't even pray anymore for the earth, its a done deal, already. the way things or going, it like when you get a snowball and start it down a high steep hill. and if its steep enough you really don't have to actually watch it roll down the hill,. you know it will go down that hill. even if America stopped ALL pollution. went all to electric cars. that sort of thing, the developing country's would just continue right along .and No. theirs no hope. sorry, I sure am, Its a sin against God to do what were doing, but I am caught up in it all like everyone else, I a lot of times walk to the store and bike, just bought a small car.I feed the animals, don't spray pesticides out in the yard. But even if everyone did stuff like this were still doomed, to many people.I don't know what God had in mind when he made us,were not a natural being anymore, were something else. I don't know what but were not natural, we cant be, were killing the planet, how could that be natural?
I hope a virus will come along and cull us back to just a few million on the entire planet.

I see people every day that seem oblivious to anyone else around them. I realize
we all have our own thoughts and problems to deal with, but one little kindness can go a long way. I get the drift of what you're saying, but I've noticed that a lot of people don't know how to have empathy. This is simply putting themselves in another person's situation. The only way people will learn that is to have something happen to them, then their eyes are opened. As for the weight issue, I really think they don't care until they have a heart attack or develope diabetes. Then they whine about it. I've found that you can't change others, so just do what you can yourself. Life is a leaning process, and many have to learn the hard way.

Life is a symbiotic experience. Yes, there is bad, but there is a lot of good to act as a balance. Yes, people overeat, but that means that we live in a country wear food is readily available to be eaten. Often driving a car is the only way to get to work in a reasonable amount of time. Insurance helps ease the burden of paying for accidents caused by negligence not stupidity, I'm sure even you have made a mistake. I love you.

I mostly agree with the exception of when you state "no one knows it.". Many know of the pending destruction of the society.
You are more accurate when you say "people just don't give a damn", but it is closer to the truth to say people are unaware of the consequences of their actions.
The whole deal may stem from an abuse of privilege and freedom.
Furthermore, I believe it is a lack of wisdom.
Acquiring knowledge is no guarantee of practical, useful application. These days people seek knowledge, not wisdom.
Simplistic popularization of ideas and what passes for knowledge in our modern society has thrust our world into a mental straitjacket.
Knowledge without wisdom accomplishes evil.
Wisdom involves good judgment, discernment, understanding and assessing for implications.
Discernment: the quality of being able to grasp and comprehend what is obscure.
Discriminating: to distinguish and select what is true or appropriate.
It maybe the reason other nations of the world oppose the United States. They see the destructive qualities of Americans, and are threatened by the thought of being forcibly assimilated.

First of all, your tone does sound like anger and frustration...... but that's ok!!
To answer your question though, generally, everyone's just looking out for themselves. People don't trust other people. When you think about it, can you blame them? If you were to pull over to the side of the road and help "the wrong person", you might be putting yourself at risk to either get seriously hurt or killed. There are lots of psychos in this world!!
With regard for common sense, so many people need things to be spelled out for them. They don't quite know how to think for themselves. They don't even trust their own judgment.

We do deserve and we will die...The difference is if you lead a healthy life style and drive well, you will die healthy and may be live a little longer. Considering that "longer" will fall on your "old" years - who really knows what's better. If you believe that after we die - we still live - all of the above doesn't make any sense, as well as your question.

calm down theres lots of positive intelligent caring considerate people out here too , we balance the good and bad just as nature does with wild animal species , after all we are animals and we are somehow in this balance of nature too ..... everything will be fine for millions of years here so stay positive to help the negative , stay active to help the inactive , and dont worry about the world and its air coz the snow is and all ways will be white which proves the air is still clean and healthy or it would be grey or brown snow , its a bigger world than we can imagine and will recover from much worse than we could ever throw at it , so just let go and let people do what they want to and how they want to and dont let them get to you

Its not that they don't give a damn, but just lazy to change the way they live. We are creatures of habit and its hard for some people to change even when we have the answer right in front of us.

You're a nut, but so am I, because I agree with you completely.
And yes, we deserve to die out. Capitalism and greed sucks. Why anyone eats processed crap, I'll never know, unless its because they're too effing lazy to prepare something nutritious and whole. Wake up folks-sugar belongs in desserts (which should be eaten in moderation), not in sandwich buns, fries, and everything else they sell (which is laden with chemicals as well!).
And yes, walk when you can-enjoy it, I do! You won't find diabetes hanging out with me!

I think this is a bit drastic- but I completely agree with your underlying point. People really do serious damage every day! I really don't they that they realize the impact that your words and actions can have on others. Thank you for making this point!
