A regular hem looks bad, but how bad does moving up the original hem look? Any tips?

ask for the euro hem. it will use the original hem, and looks really good. if you go to a proper place, it wont even look like you got your pants hemmed.

i go through getting pants hemmed all the time! i feel the pain.

Bring them a pic or an actual pair of pants that you like the hem on and show the sewing person, can't think of there job title right now, how sad.

it all depends how high you move the hem up and who you have to do it for you make sure you explain to them how you want the hem to be don on your jeans

I won't grant you long and uneccessary education or some internet website link yet i'm a sewing freak lol. No, lol i'm in simple terms a female that sews & would not enable matters bypass to waste! shrink the denims the size of the area you need to choose it to be, on your opinion-now no longer too short and not too long the two!, shrink the in seams of the denims, meet the two seam aspects mutually and stitch them mutually! you have already shrink it for length so in simple terms throw it interior the bathing gadget and you gets the raggedy effect!, Wash it till ultimately you have the discoloration effect you elect to have! choose I helped! GL! :)

For best results, wash and machine dry your jeans first (this allows for any shrinkage - some jeans may require more than one wash to reduce further shrinkage).

Try your jeans on with the type of shoes you expect to wear with
your jeans.

Determine where you would like your jeans to fall.

Fold jeans up to the length you would like the jeans to fall.

Measure the length folded with a tape measure or ruler in inches.

You will only need to measure one leg, but please note which leg
you measured.*

Try hemming glue strip first, then if you don't like it you can easily remove it, and if you do like it then you can sew it in.simple pimple.
