so from reading some peoples answers nobody like the strokes i guess which is a shame. the strokes are amazing and no there stuff does not all sound the same its up to you personally i hate panic at the disco i think they are terrible there music is just the fad going around with fallout boy (which i also dont like) afi ehh not my taste and lostprophets not that great. so im gona go with the strokes on this recommend there latest album "first impressions of the earth" but if you like alot of indie stuff then go with "is this it" room on fire is also great

I know of AFI my favorite song is Miss Murder and I know of Panic!At the Disco and my fave song is Lying is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off

oh my god, you people are so stupid!!! panic! at the disco is the best band EVER. the band members are so true and sensitive yet cool and "hip" and yeah that sounds really lame but they are really good. the lyrics are so deep in a way and not just thought up and put together. the band enjoys what they do and they arent just out there to get famous and to get money which they dont get a lot of b/c their shows are so expensive and theatrical. they are so unique and the lead singer, in my opinion, has the best voice ever. it is a shame that they have become mainstream b/c now their songs are being ruined by the radio and stupid people who only know "i write sins not tragedies" claim to be their "biggest fans" but they really are good. my favorite song is "build god, then we'll talk" and it is also brendon urie (lead singer) and ryan ross (guitarist) 's favorite. so check them out and appreciate the music.

The Strokes is the only good band you listed. They are consistent and have a great sound, they sound AWESOME live.

And if you like The Strokes, you';; most likely like The Vines. They have a pretty popular hit, "Ride", but they have much better songs on any of their albums, much like The Strokes.

Drop them all and focus listening to AFI and the Strokes. Don't bother with P!ATD, they have nothing to offer.

AFI is quite simply the greates band in the universe. I personally love the missing frame, kill caustic, love like winter, girl's not grey, days of the phoenix, and home in nowhere.
