I often wondered why Jay-Z made reference to himself as "J-Hova." As it turns out, he's identifying himself with Jehovah? What the heck? Has he lost his mind?! I hope that he's not comparing himself to the Almighty God himself? If he is, then he needs to step away from the crack pipe he's been obiviously smokin'. Maybe I'm wrong? What do you think?

The so-called entertainer referred to in this question was apparently raised in an ostensibly Jehovah's Witness household. He has never claimed to be an adherent of that religion, and in fact has worked to appropriate the divine name for himself.
That would seem to be blasphemous and reprehensible.

Yeah that is kinda odd but he refers to himself as J-Hova because he thinks he the jehova of Hip Hop plus hes called "J" and "hova" so he put them 2gether to make a new nickname like if he doesnt have enuff of those

I couldn't agree more, he is so overrated, and he do need to slow that down. I never thought of it that way, but I think that is what he is implying. He isn't the almighty so he needs to back to earth off that weed cloud... good point to make...

You are right alright. He is thinking that the rap industry can't survive without him, which is not true. many people were born before him. He is good, but not as good as the Almighty.

Ur not wrong, I think he's a good rapper, one of the best(my opinion, don't hate), but to refer to himself as Jehovah is just over the top. I guess he does feel like he is on top and the creator of the hip hop game.

I thought HOV came either came from
a) Being so high that he floated.
b) Running drugs up I-95 and seeing the "High Occupancy Vehicle" lanes and thinking it was funny.
