When some program stops responding, mouse will usually stop working too especially in pre XP days. Try to hold your Ctl+Alt+Delete keys to access the task manager and see which program stops responding. Use your keyboard arrows and tab buttons to navigate to the programs and end those programs that are not responding.

If you have a wireless mouse, It could be that the signal is being blocked or the battery needs replacement.

Good Luck!

It sounds like a loose connection if it is truly freezing. Check the back of your PC to see if the mouse cord is firmly plugged in.

If you are having intermittent problems and you have a mouse ball (rather than an optical mouse) try removing the mouse ball (there should be a donut shaped plastic piece on the bottom of your mouse that you can twist to release it and the ball) and then cleaning the inside.

Good luck.

Just a note also if all else fails.

I have seen failing powersupplys cause the mouse to be jerky and intermittent. Sometimes causeing them to freeze and not always showing other signs. You could check this or have a professional checkit.

There are so many issues that can cause the mouse to freeze, you just have to go thought all the steps to find which one it is.

Good Luck

take mouse out of freezer.... joke

if it is a cordless mouse.. replace the batteries... if it is a usb mouse just unplug it and then plug it back in... sometimes the drivers get a little buggy and have to refresh... if posssible plug in another mouse and see if the problem goes away... if so... replace the mouse

Actually, your mouse probably didn't freeze, your whole system did. Try to find out which program is causing your computer to freeze up.

Turn your heating on! :-)

Nah, probably a device conflict.. have you had this sort of problem with the mouse before?

Probably a fault with your comp - not necessarily your input devices.
