If you got it back, maybe, but you shouldn't trust them anymore.
If they pawned/sold/lost/destroyed it and you never got it back, no.

Friends don't steal from friends. A person who steals a precious family heirloom is not a friend and does not need to be treated as such. Call the police and report the theft. Good luck.

It is okay to forgive, but never forget!
Demand that your friend return the heirloom, and do not let that friend into your house again unless enough time has passed and you feel trust once more.

I wouldn't forgive her at all. I would press charges. I would tell other family members so they can get pissed at the friend. I would kick some booty. Stealing from a friend shows that you do not value or respect that person at all.

You can forgive if you can find it inside you to do that, but I think you need to realize that the person is not really a friend. You can forgive them but still have them out of your life.

That would be a great big NO !
I hope you got your item back, if not I would threaten police actions unless it is returned. But, when you do get it back let them know that you cannot no longer trust them and dump that person. Friendship is based on trust and if you cant trust them why would you waste your time...........

Yes you should forgive.... Even though it hurts it is the right thing to do especially if they say they are sorry and have asked you for forgiveness.
