faint or pass out at the mention of cat dissection. You will only need to do this once

High School biology? Wow when I was in highschool the only things we had to dissect were frogs, grasshoppers and earth worms. I would have to say no to dissecting a cat. Tell the teacher you concerns and maybe she/he will work with you on the situation. Instead of cutting open the cat maybe she will give you a diagram to label while the others are dissecting the cat.

Tell your teacher you have a deeply held moral and ethical opposition to dissecting animals. Check out the PETA website - they have a section about school work dissection. And hopefully, walk the walk, don't just talk the talk. Are you a vegetarian? Wear leather? Feel it's not cool to kill cats but ok to kill cows? Think about it.

Try getting in ouch with your local humane society. You might also start a petition to get it stopped. Im sure you probably arent the only one who doesnt want to do it. Plus it could help for future biology students.

Tell your teacher that you are not comfortable cutting open an animal and ask if there is something else you can do.

just tell your teacher that you will get sick if you have to cut up a cat...they will most likely not make you do it.
