Their are two common differences: All Pythons are egg layers and most Boas give birth to live young. The other difference is that most Pythons have heat pits and most Boas do not, although there are exceptions.

There are many differences between these snakes. Boas give live birth, pythons lay eggs. Many pythons have heat sensing pits on their lower and upper jaw, boas don't. They both kill by constriction, they can both have small species and large species, and they live in all kinds of climates. Their is not one specific area as to where they live- pythons don't just prefer swamps. Anacondas are boas, and where do they live? That's right folks, the swamps and marshes of South America.

A python is a snake. A boa is one of those furry things you wear around your neck.

Though they are both constrictors, Pythons live in swampy areas and like the water, Boas do not.
