That came from the tradition of giving the child the mothers maiden name as a middle name to link the linage.
When a woman wants to keep her last name she usually hyphenates her name-husbands. but you can do it any way you want.

It doesn't make a difference but generally speaking the wives maiden name comes first, then the husbands. If it sounds better the other way then do it the other way around. Good luck!

i imagine maximum hypenated women human beings pick the dad's very last call for the newborn, see you later because this isn't any longer a nasty very last call like Hooker or Butts or something. I grew up with 2 very last names, and it change right into a discomfort interior the butt convincing human beings in numerous situations that i change into an identical individual (cashing checks, etc). If it were me, i might want to %. something and pass with it. i have also heard of hippy dippy kinds making up a clean very last call for the newborn (no offense, i like hippy dippy kinds).

It really dont matter. I remember from friends that Ross and Rachael named their daughter Emma Geller-Green. So it can go either yours first and his last or the other way around. I would go with which ever one sounds better. Good Luck and Congrats.

The woman's maiden name first, then the husbands last name. In other countries, etc. it is the same.

Usually it's females first, but why not be different and start a new trend by giving his last name first.

I always see the woman's last name first, then the man's... but I don't think there's an actual rule to it...
