I just left my husband like yesterday and I don't really feel bad about it. I am kind of feeling bad because I already am happy and looking forward to the rest of my life. He cried and begged me not to go, but as I said in an earlier question, he was a jerk. Well, more than a jerk. Am I a bad person for being happy while he acts so miserable?

Okay, he was abusive and I don't enjoy his suffering. I did care about him but after 6 years of the abuse and lack of love I had to do something. I just have never really stood up for myself so I wasn't really sure I was being a bad person for being happy without him.

NO, He is trying to guilt you into coming back. I did not see your earlier question, so I don't know all of the situation. If you are already happy, then stay that way. From the sound of it, you are better off without him. Good Luck with everything!

Sometimes the hardest thing to do is the best thing for us. Feeling better about yourself isn't wrong. He will try everything under his power to gain that control over you again. Don't let it happen. He will even become that person you fell in love with again.....but he will be that hateful, distrustful,controlling, abusive person when you come back.
Enjoy life, it doesn't last forever.

You are not a bad person sweetie...I am in the same boat as you. You are doing what you feel is right and following your heart, that could never be wrong! If he didn't treat you right then you are just leaving an unhappy marriage so don't feel guilty. Tell him to seek counseling....good luck.

This will take time for you to know it was right... Trust me you will be crying and miserable at times before starting to really get past this.... Why did you guys break up???? What was the reason... It seems to me that he really loves you and wants to work on the marriage. You are not a bad person but i think you should think about things and your marriage before making it final.

no you are not a bad person he must of not have of made you happy and well in order for a person to function properly there has to be some kind of happiness. i would say that you are relived to be who and what you want to be therefore the sensation of happiness is overwhelming you which is a good thing.

no....but what is bad is if you string him along.....cut hte ties now and dont look back....he will heal in time if you dont drag it on and on and give him false hope...dont be mean just be honest......I know cuz I was the one begging for my ex huz not to leave me and now I am remarried and a million times happier than I was with him but you could not have told me that when I was in all that pain

Stop evaluation and comparing your emotions to his. That is very selfish and self-centered. You need to look into why YOU are taking joy in seeing him suffer. Why didn't you go for counseling BEFORE it came to this?
Sounds like you are BOTH jerks - just different kinds. Maybe you DO deserve each other!
