Purchased 2005 Acura TL w/o navigation. Need it badly. Would like to purchase it w/o having to pay $5000 from dealer. Where can I get one?

The OE navigation system is made by Alpine Electronics. I have not been able to find this equip. on their site.

This is not a usual dealer option but I'm sure they can do it. I would check other Acura dealers for a price around half of what you have been quoted. Possibly Honda may be able to accomodate you. Good luck...the Acura navigation system is excellent.

Go to best buy or some store that specializes in car audio and get a TOM TOM or Garmin navigation system, it is not as nice as the standard Acura one, and is not connected to all the features of the car but as far as navigation it gets the job done for only about $600 to $800.

If you want an indash or factory unit, the dealer is the route to take. But if you don't mind a dash mounted unit, go onto Ebay and search for a Garmin or Magellan unit. you can get them for around $400, they simply plug into your cigarette lighter and you turn them on and pick your location.
I bought a magellan 800 about a month ago, it has all USA maps preloaded, very simple to operate. It has a dash mount that is a suction cup device and you simply set the GPS in the mount and off you go.
