I would know I'm a huge Notre Dame fan. He has a slight knee injury and doesn't want to take a chance hurting it. Ive followed him since his freshman year, he is so good he doesn't need to go. Anyway its a slight knee. He had it examined by Dr. James Andrews and advised not to play, but he will make the trip to Mobile. And Quinn isn't faking it he is one of the toughest guys in college football he has never missed a game and wouldn't make it up. I believe the injury happened against LSU.

Brady Quinn did not play in the Senior Bowl for the same reason that most "big name" high profile QBs don't play in those games. They already have their name out there and the risk is much higher than the reward. In those type games you have very little if any chemistry with the receivers and only get about a week to learn the system that will be used. A higher profile QB that has a good game in one of these Showcase Bowls doesn't really gain alot in their draft position...but if you have a bad game it can drop you down the draft board of a team. Also I heard he is still not 100% with his knee.

Apart from the "injury", he has nothing to gain and everything to lose from the Senior Bowl. He could have a poor game or get hurt. He has proven enough during his four years at Notre Dame and is already a top 5 draft pick, so he can't jump more spots in the upcoming draft.

QB's like Troy Smith and Drew Stanton need the Senior Bowl much more. They are trying to impress teams so they can be first day draft picks. They will not be first round picks due to height (Smith) or not-so-stellar college career (Stanton).

Quinn will have his day to impress scouts on his private workout session. I'm sure he won't be participating in drills at the NFL Combine, like every other top prospect.

There isn't enough batteries in the world to make a clock count down till the Browns actually win a Super Bowl.

he didn't think he had anything to gain and too much to loose from playing.

a good performance there wasn't going to boost his chances in the NFL draft, while a bad one would certainly hurt him.

the official reason, of course, was a "minor knee injury" but no one knows how/when the injury happened, or even which knee, so you can draw your own conclusions about how real this "injury" was.
