$496?? WOW! Are you sure about that? That wasn't electricity and gas?

Have the gas company check for a leak. That amount is at least five times higher than it should be. In addition, check to see if the bill is correct. It could be you didn't get billed last month or the month before. With a house your size, and all gas, and considering aside from the past two weeks we've had a mild winter, your bill is wayyy too high. My bride suggests that you call the gas company to see if they have been estimating for the past several months (bill the same size) and are now billing you the balance.

One last thing, set your water heater temperature to maybe 120 degrees maximum. It doesn't need to be hotter. Your dishwasher has its own heating element so your dishes will still be sterilized.

As for my bills, my condo is all electric, but our bill is a part of our maintenance fee.

This is WHY I am so anxious to move there -- I WISH I could have a $60 heat bill! I am in MN and my CURRENT energy bill for THIS MONTH ALONE - is $240! Yes. That is just this month. Last month's bill was $188. And I only have a 1900 sq ft house. We keep the heat very minimal - especially when we are gone during the day - When the sun is out, it really helps heat up the house to minimize the furnace running "much" and at night we use a lot of blankets....It sucks up here!

Yeah, have your house checked for leaks. Mine is only 1600ft but I also use gas for water, heater, stove, and dryer; however, mine is $25 in the summer, between $80 and $150 in the winter.

If you are using that much gas, you may want to invest in a tankless water heater. It could save you 1/3 of your heating costs.

I had a house very similar. Ours was about 2200 s/f. Ours was about 60-80. Sometimes more if we were running the gas fireplace. I think it was low because my ex-husband was a little stingy on running the heat. :)

call the gasoline employer and ask them how a lot gasoline you utilize each and each month, or ask them in case you have used any gasoline interior the final 12 months. in case you haven't any longer used any for a 12 months, you're able to desire to ask them what you're able to desire to do to disconnect provider. in case you're utilising something, discover out what that's linked to. A gasoline water heater will use some each and each month. A heater or fire will never be used, yet could desire to be available merely in case the electrical powered energy is going off.
