An interesting question. Consider this: perhaps everything good that happens to us really is in our imagination. In a way, it is true, because everything that happens to us is neither good nor bad. But our perception of them makes the situations "good" or "bad" to us. So considering our belief system, i.e. what we believe about the world, our emotions, our past experiences,.. all this stuff shapes our perception and makes things good or bad.

I would think that both good and bad things are part of the imagination already. The think that distiguishes whether they are good or bad is our own perception of the situation or outcome. Therefore - yes everthing that is good... is really only part of my imagination. Its how i imagine things to be. I would imagine that having lunch here in about 5 minutes... is good. Therefore - it is good. Traffic in about 5 hours i would imagine.... will be bad. So it is bad.

I would feel better knowing that the bad things that have happened in my life are just part of my imagination...

Good is a relative term, so therefore it is a part of what your brain is telling in each specific situation.

ie. I saw a teenager through a fit over a car her father bought her because it was the wrong color. Then I've seen grown men cry in joy because of a meal they could provide for their family.

So what is "good"?
