I saw a commercial a while back for a special device, one for cds and one for dvds that you just slip the cd or dvd into it and it slices the wrapper so you can remove it quickly. I don't own one or remember the company but I'm sure you could do a search and find it.

Many have a pull strip, like a packet of gum. Use that if you have one...it's fast, clean, and effective.

If not, I use the edge of my nail (or a key) and carefully run it along the groove where the case "opens" on its hinge. The indentation gives you the purchase you need and any small scratch you might make is hidden.

i had this problem, tried using my teeth, scissors only damage the case. i now use an old fashioned letter opener, it has a very slim blade that slides across the top, and makes a neat job without scratching the plastic.

I'll ask my butler. He usually does it for me. In fact, right at this moment he is sucking the chocolate from my Brazil Nuts. I love the nuts, but the chocolate is so fattening
