Here is some information on the new Australian uniform
adidas Australia and Cricket Australia revealed the new Australian One Day International (ODI) uniform that has been designed to help the world’s leading team look and perform at its peak this summer.
Australian Cricket’s true Green and Gold Uniform
The colour of the uniform has been inspired by feedback from the players identifying the “baggy green” as the most iconic symbol in Australian Cricket. adidas has colour matched the fabric to an original baggy green cap to ensure that the new, innovative shirt pays tribute to this treasured symbol. To provide some truly gold touches to the uniform, the players names and numbers, the stars of the southern cross and the adidas branding have all been executed in metallic gold.
Designed in consultation with the players, the new-age uniforms include fabric colour-matching to an original baggy green cap, no collar, a "sun protection neck line" and a "mesh zip neck". "It feels great," Ricky Ponting told AAP at the SCG launch. "It's very light-weight. In the conditions we play in around the world it's important that you have the right technology and materials in your shirt.
"The guys won't have to be flicking their collars right up through the game. The zip at the front will enable the collar to stay up and keep the sun off the back of our necks, which is obviously very important."
Barbara Chapman is the group executive, people and services,Commonwealth Bank of Australia.
Last week, Ms Chapman also launched the bank's $21 million three-year sponsorship of the national one-day Australian cricket team and the one-day international series. It is supported by a television commercial created by STW that focuses on how backyard cricket might be played in Australia, England and New Zealand, which are contesting the series.
"It's about time the Commonwealth Bank got involved in (sponsoring) something in Australia at a really high level," Ms Chapman said.
The bank has denied speculation that the colour of the one-day uniforms was changed from the traditional gold to dark green so the bank's yellow and black diamond-shaped logo, which appears on the chest and sleeves of the Australian team shirt, would be more prominent.
"Cricket Australia had already chosen to go with the colour of the baggy green (Australian Test team cap) before we signed," a bank spokesman said. http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,20867,21058542-7582,00.html

Could have something to do with sponsors?
They change quite often because it will make people want to buy their new playing top, even if they have the old gold one. So it's a marketing thing.
Are South Africa's shirts green still? Because there could be a clash thing there during the World Cup. Maybe Australia will change back then.
Personally I like the gold ones better.
