I don't believe there is "so much" evil in the world. "Evil" is a human creation to describe natural phenomena. For instance, other species of animals kill (some for fun), rape, steal, etc. For some reason, many people don't call these acts of evil unless it's committed by a h sapiens sapiens.
But why do humans kill, rape, steal? Because that's what nature does. The animal that kills its enemies will be more successful with reproduction, thereby having offspring that are more likely to kill. (The same can be said about other forms of "evil.") We all probably come from an ancestry of killers, rapists, and thieves. They probably did these to better their chances at reproducing their genes, although they were not consciously aware of it.

There is so much evil because we are all trying to be so good. Still we don't do good because we know the good we do is to cover up for the fact we are bad. We are all trapped inside our weaknesses and paranoia because we keep running from ourselves. Angst that we put on ourselves because we can't be who we really are. We have to stop running and admit to our "sins."

That depends, on which side of the glass you are. Perspective worldview means you'll never know the universal truth, only your own translation of what you believe to be the ultimate truth. If you mainly focus on evil, of course you'll see more of it. Try focusing on goodness.

because of their lust, envy, jelousy, chooses, plans, plots, some thing to blame for, paybacks, to feel good about them selfs, to look cool, to percipate in groups\gangs, to feel good, laugh about some thing, be cruel, have some thing to do, perental influence.

one... there isnt a lot of evil, but a lot of good, you just hear about the evil things. also evil is caused by shrub ( US president, george bush )
