Both are great.
Advantage of programs is that you also have visual input , so if you need to see things in order to understand them , then this better for you.

reading allows you to create your own visuals .It also instills a bit of discipline, so if you want to improve these abilities , then reading is for you.

Have fun

In either case you are subject to the viewpoint of the person who wrote the book or produced the program. In order to really gain insight into any subject, you need to read or view different materials so that you have a basis to evaluate which opinions are most accurate. And to thereby master that subject.

Also, reading books and watching programs are passive activities. Real learning comes from actively discussing or practicing the subject matter.

there is no best way to acquire knowledge... we do it on a daily basis. Reading, of course, is a good way to exercise your brain power, as is watching educational programs.

It depends on the books that you read, but you will eventually gain more (indepth) knowledge from reading than you will from watching programs.

Personally, I'd use both and toss in a few current subscriptions to magazines as well.

Reading Books.
Watching programmes will only tell you about the subject shown.
Reading will take you into the mind and personality of the person writing the subject.
Reading will teach you how powerfull and important words can be and also show you the proper way to use them to your advantage.
Reading will tell you how much form, depth and scope is contained in these things.

It would depend on which YOU comprehend better.
Can you keep your mind on the programs and understand what is being said with out your mind wondering.
Normally with books your attentions are not distracted by other goings on around you.
I would say reading is better.
