Failure to recognize the most recent Manifestation of God and follow His teachings.
Manifestations of God are like Physicians. They bring the medicine that is suitable for the age in which they appear. Baha'u'llah has revealed comprehensive teachings that would solve all the current problems of the world and establish a world civilization.

There are two political desires. One is the desire to do your own thing to try to realize your ideals on a personal level and not be interfered with. The other is to realize an ideal you have for everyone else, which requires you to force others to do something they wouldn't otherwise do.
The willingness of people to follow through on this use of force to realize their societal ideals is the root cause of all of the problems on our planet.
But many of them try to mask this by claiming that it's "greedy" for anyone to not want to submit to their societal ideals. It's no more "greedy" for me to not want to be forced by Hillary Clinton to pay other people's medical bills than it is "sinful" for homosexuals to not want to be forced by Pat Robertson to change their sexual activities.
