Yes. I just saw the Mythbusters (American tv show) do it. The paper has to be very thin and large for it to be done, though. A piece of notebook paper or copier paper can only be folded seven times. You'll have better luck with tissue paper.

YES!!!!! The larger & thinner the paper the better (tissue paper, napkin, etc.)!
(BY THE WAY, I am assuming that you mean in half EACH TIME! Otherwise, like with Origami you can fold it tons of times.)
p.s. I just folded a napkin 9 times to confirm! (Diagonally in half instead of rectangle/square)

no i spent an hour lastnight trying to do it. my boyfriend came home and was telling me about it. there is no way that it can be folded in half more then 7 times no matter the size it is.
