Because the assistant has forgotten to rub/take the security tag off? It happened to me today. You can just feel everyones eyes piercing into you, it makes you feel like a criminal even though i haven't done anything. The assistant forgot to deactivate the alarm on my digibox. Does anyone else ever feel the same??

Yeah- everybody looks at you as if you're, like, Winona Ryder or something; meanwhile the b*loody teller forgot to take the electronic tag off. Strange thing is, for a millisecond you actually *do* feel like you did a Winona. weird.

Yes i had this done to me in asda, when the assistant didn't deactivate a tag on foundation i had got. The alarms in there are very loud and i had my bag looked through and receipt checked by the door in front of everyone and then didn't even get an apology. I was so angry i demanded to see the manager and was given a shopping voucher. That didn't make it right so i don't give them my custom now.

Well, once I was (also!) in Asda and I bought an item of clothing for my son. Anyway, they didn't remove the tag and the alarm didn't go off when I left the shop.

I got home couldn't be bothered to take it back so attempted to remove the tag and ruined the stuff...

It does not bother me at all. Most of them are not working correctly. It is usually a human error, and the alarm goes off on everyone, coming in and going out.

If employees bother me, I ask to see the manager or security, and if they wish to do a search, I will take them to court. I will let my legal intentions be known from the beginning.

Yes! I hate that! The worst was when I was a missionary for the LDS church and the alarm would go off in places! as if we didn't allready draw enough attention to ourselves by dressing alike and wearing nametags and riding bikes in mid winter! It felt like everyone was staring at us and thinking "The Mormons are robbing the Wallmart!"

Yes it drives me insane! I have had cashiers that do try and it still goes off. Or now with all the check your self out lanes it has gotten worse I would rather stand in line when I know I have something that has a security tag.

It happens often enough that most people realize it's probably a mistake. You shouldn't feel guilty if you've done nothing wrong. If you turn back to correct the error it's obvious you aren't likely to be stealing. Keep going and you look guilty.

Not to mention how annoying it is when the security guard makes a not-so-subtle point of following you around the store just because you happen to have a large handbag.

It makes some of us really angry. But it doesn't bother me, because I know it is nothing the clerk or I did intentionally. It is a minor inconvenience unless and until the police come to take me away. Then I would be embarrassed.
