Where did Michael Balzary get his famous nickname(similar to Gordon Sumner being given the name "Sting" due to his yellow-and black striped shirt he wore in the early days of popularity of the Police rock group)???...

Maybe that explains why I know Sting's real name, and NOT Flea's(NO offense, but "Balzary" is a difficult' name to remember on a frequent basis...)...

I asked him that question years ago while dating a relative of Anthony K. The others in the group said "he gets under you skin and doesn't go away".

I read somewhere, I think imdb.com that he and his friends made up cartoon character names and he was Flea. But you might wanna check it out yourself, I can't remember.
