Yes it is common to have early miscarriages before one even knows that they are pregnant. Many people have them, it could be a result of the egg not implanting properly, defective egg or sperm, hormonal imbalance, stress, so many things. You may have no symptoms or some early pregnancy symptoms. You may or may not even have positive pregnancy tests. Most would be quiet surprised to find out just how often this does occur. It does not mean that there is necessarily anything wrong with anything other than this individual pregnancy.

Not to scare you or anything like that, but many people who suffer with infertility do this. I have had numerous miscarriages, many as late as 12 weeks, yet the tests would still say I was never pregnant.

Relax, it is actually very normal!

Yes. I had a total of 9 miscarriages before I concieved my first child - 5 of those were under the care of fertility doctors and I knew very early I was pregnant (before my period was due). 3 times my period came on time (maybe 1 or 2 days late), and felt almost completely normal. If I hadn't known I was pregnant, I would have just thought it was a heavy period, or not thought about it at all.

2 of the miscarriages were between 3 to 5 weeks after actual conception (about 1 to 3 weeks late), and even those periods were not too bad - heavy with some clotting, a little more cramping than usual.

A good thing to remember....a womans' body is very good at knowing if an implantation is viable or healthy enough to survive.

Very possible. Many women mistake the miscarriage for a period and didn't even know that they were pregnant.

absolutely. You can be pregnant, miscarry and not even know it, some woman don't get any signs of a miscarriage at all that is called a "missed" pregnancy..If your concerned please go see your doctor, because if you are infact having a miscarriage and your body does not expell everything it is suppose to, you can get very very sick.

Absolutely, often times when a period is "late" the actual cause was a very early term miscarriage.

If your periods are not regular and you are prone to serious pms or other symptoms, then yes it is. But I definitely think you would feel as if something wasn't right.
