Bugs can be sneaky little SOB's but even though we think that there isn't a space between the wall and the light fixture, there is. They can slide, push, pull, or whatever it is that they do, right through that little crack. What probably happens is that they either die from the heat of the bulb and/or they cannot get out as easily as they get in. That'll teach them!

Through them little - bitty holes, cracks, and other openings. But, maybe thems ain't bugs you are use to seeing. Maybe dem is electric bugs that come through the wires then drop out while passing through the bulb's filliment, or escape the wires where the wires are connected to the bulb base. The bugs look dead, but they really are not. They are just laying there waiting for a charge of lightning to get them going again.

I'm thinking that an insect lands on or near the light, leaving the larva behind and when the larva incubates and then becomes an insect that is when the insect is small enough to fit in all the tiny places. The light is giving off heat which is probably what they thrive of.
