yes but be aware, guinea pigs dont do well under anestisia. Vets dont like to do it. Especially to female pigs but it can be done. Best bet is to let the sexs be seperated. Also guinea pig female and males do all that kind of stuff, if the new pig is a girl and the other is a boy, the boy will do a coo and chugging and motorboating sound and try to mount or squirt the other with urine. He will do this also with a younger male so you may still have a male. Take him to the vet ask to have him porperly sexed for you its usually free. Another way to tell is to gentle cradle the pig on his back on your lap. look closely down there. And with a thumb gently pull back on the tummy skin but dont squeeze. If something starts to "telescope" outside of the body the new pig is a boy. IF its a girl this wont happen. If you have a girl the female wont accept him till she is in heat, but if you dont want to have babies seperate them right now. Females only come into heat once a month for about a day. If they get pregnant, however, they go into heat again about 6 to 8 hours after birth and are able to concieve again. So you could be quickly over run.

Most vets will not spayed or neuter Guinea Pigs, they don't like to do surgery or anything like that on animals under 5 to 10 pounds because of the high risk of death for putting a small animal under. If your not sure if you got a male or a female I suggest taking Penny down to the vet and finding out for sure. To be on the safe side I suggest you separating the two of them until you know for sure, other wise your going to have baby Guinea Pigs. When you separate them make sure the cages are in two rooms, or you'll still end up with baby Guinea Pigs.

yes guinea pigs can be spayed and neutered, you would want to find a vet who specializes in small animal care.Whether or not you have a boy and a girl the more dominant pig will try to get his groove on with the other pig to show who is boss.If you want to know what sex they are hold them on their back and by the anus gently press down if something pops out it's a boy nothing pops out a girl. Good luck with your pigs they can be soooooooooo much fun I would also recommend a good book on guinea pigs and make sure to give them vitamins in their water.

AS ODD AS I THINK THIS QUESTION IS I WANT THE 2 POINTS...HERE IS YOUR ANSWER...
Neutering is the surgical removal of parts of the reproductive system, rendering an animal sterile and unable to produce offspring. Neutering or 'spaying' a female involves removing the womb and ovaries (an ovariohysterectomy). Neutering or 'castrating' the male involves the removal of the testicles. The vet usually makes a small incision on each scrotum and surgically removes the testicles from within.
Just a note on the word: Some of us think we 'neuter' males and 'spay' females, but the word 'neuter' is actually gender neutral and applies to both sexes. Other terms used interchangeably with neutering are 'altering' or 'fixing.' However, for the most part, we will also use the term neuter rather than castration to refer to neutering males.
The only valid, non-medical reason to neuter your male guinea pig is because you have a female you want him to room with. Neutering does little to change the behavior of aggressive guinea pigs, unlike the effect it has on other types of animals. Likewise, neutering does little to curb mounting or sexual behavior. It will prevent unwanted pregnancies. There is no need or reason to neuter two boars living together. If they don't get along now, neutering won't help. Please see the social life page for more discussion on issues related to pairing up guinea pigs. Please see the breeding page for more information on the dangers and concerns of breeding.
Are risks involved in neutering? Yes. The risks are detailed below. However, they can be minimized. Are there risks in keeping two opposite-sex fertile animals in the same house? Yes. Even with the best of intentions and diligent practices, accidents can happen. Accidental pregnancies can result in the death of a sow or serious health problems requiring major veterinary care. Can those risks be minimized? Yes. Can either risk be completely eliminated? No.
Please be aware that as with any surgery, even with a healthy animal, the best vet, and proper after-surgery care, there is a chance that your guinea pig may not make it. Only you can weigh your options and determine the best course for you and your animals

yes! even hamsters can be neutered! i had a hamster once that was swollen and infected in -well, a strategic place,to put it politely.the vet said he had a medical condition that would keep re-occuring,and it was best to neuter him.and we did-for 300 dollars !!!! my friends thought i was crazy, but he lived another year and a half,pain-free,so it was worth it to give him a better quality of life.interestingly,he stopped biting after he was fixed, and became very tame !!!!!!

Yes - I think you can, but it's going to cost you more money then you probably wan't to pay for an animal that is going to die in like...6 years........................................
