I am a Falcon fan and was hoping the Falcons would take the Oakland deal and trade Michael Vick to Oakland for Moss and the #1 pick in the draft. I thought it was a super deal to get the #1 pick in the draft and get rid of a liability like Vick. He was totally incompetent in the last 3 games and alienated fans by making an obscene gesture at them when he was booed for a poor performance. This man is a veteran who has never learned to play QB. When I see Payton Manning, Tom Brady, Steve McNair and Drew Brees play it makes me sick that the Atlanta management demands the coach play a QB who has no leadership qualities, can't read defenses, and who wants to run when his primary receiver is covered not find a secondary receiver. I say YES to Oakland. You can have him. Oakland would be a perfect place for him. We are ready to give Matt Schaub a chance. He has patiently waited for the coach to put him into games because of Vick's incompetence. Winning is everything in the NFL and Vick isn't.

I'm a Falcon fanatic too brother. I really hope they do trade him for Poret, Moss, and number one draft Pick. I think Shuab is good enough to run a powerful offense espeically with those recievers and we still have Norwood and Dunn for the running game.

Vick's saving grace is that he can run the football better than any other QB at this time. That being said, when Schaub has played in place of Vick, he has put up better numbers and has also shown that he can run the brick pretty effectively too. However, Vick will more than likely be staying in Atlanta with new head coach Petrino (who seems to be pretty good with QBs). This actually gives Schaub a better shot at starting though since Petrino wants to see more throwing and less running from his signal callers.

Vick to Oakland would only appease some Atlanta fans. However, getting Randy Moss may not be the best thing for Atlanta either. Instead, they should look at improving their own WRs and pick up a S with their first round pick to bolster their waning defense. If Atlanta wants to deal with Oakland, instead of Moss, ask for either LaMont Jordan (to add to the running attack - which he is very effective) or Michael Huff (who could work opposite DeAngelo Hall and become a solid CB himself).

I say no because since they let Jim Mora Jr. go the new coach Bobby Petrino likes big backs so he wouldn't use Dunn that much. Yes Vick needs to show better leadership skills ( fipping off the hometown fans for example) he can also run the ball as a stonger back unlike dunn and norsewood. IF the Falcons still had TJ Duckett ,they would have a third down back. The first round Draft pick is nice however but they need something better than Randy Moss who only had 533 receiving yards. Also Moss is a bit hit to the payroll. The falcons have great wide outs within the team like Brian Finnerian who was lost for the season, Michael Jenkins also puts ups decent numbers and the tight end Alge Crumpler. But I do agree that he needs to lean how to find more receivers. Matt Schaub is just that a BACK UP quarterback. Alot of people think that since the tony romo thing happened it may happen to their team also, but we need both quarterbacks, because Schaub is a pocket passer that vick needs to practice on.

The real problem is not the QB in atlanta.
They have bad coaching accross the board. They have no good reliable running game thats why Vick takes off and the receiving corp can't find ways to demark themselves from better defenses.
If the plays are not designed properly and you don't have the right people who can get creative, then the QB has no other choice but do it himself. That's the quality of a leader on the field.

His obscene gesture will be that: an obscene gesture. The guy plays as hard as he can with a lame defense and a so-so offense and his coach are not helping. No wonder why he lost composure when even his fans start to boo him.

Stick by your man buddy, Vick is a great QB. Don't turn your back on him when he needs your support the most.
Tell them to draft better players to help him out thats ALL that's needed. Hopefully the new coach will bring in a perfect game plan.

I understnad your a Falcons fan. But you have to look back at the first few sentences of your question. That's why the Raiders wouldn't take Vick. And to trade Vick for the #1 pick and Moss. No way that will ever happen. Trades just don't happen in the NFL like this. This isn't fantasy football. Vick is one of the highest paying players in the NFL. The Raiders will not take on a contract like his. And will not give up the #1 picks for Vick.

Yes, unload Michael Vick as quickly as possible, as long as the salary cap hit is something that can be swallowed by the Falcons. He has every tool around him to succeed and he has consistently failed in all aspects of being an NFL quarterback. It is not a coaching issue, it is an issue of accepting the coaching. The Falcons have invested in their receiver corps, so you can't blame that area. The Falcons are the #1 rushing team in the NFL, so you can't say that the whole offense is on Vick's shoulders. You need a mature leader at the QB position, on and off the field, and he has shown us time and again that he is not a leader. What else is left? Send him packing ASAP.

Wouldn't trading Vick for Moss and Porter defeat the purpose of the Falcons getting better? How funny would that be?

Let's get Vick the wr help we should have gotten him eons ago and trade him in the process. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.

Let's give Matt Schaub a loaded nickle plated gun with Moss and Porter and give Vick a water gun with holes in it. That's fair.

Vick has taken a team with mediocre talent around him to the playoffs on multiple occasions. I don't recall anyone calling him incompetent then.

If anyone should be called incompetence it should be the Falcons owner and GM who passed up on Joe Gibbs who was dying to come to Atlanta and get Vick help and for them not getting a decent wr to help this guy when he was here.

And if Vick goes to Oakland it won't be any different than being in Atlanta. There is another water gun with holes in it waiting for him.

Actually the rumored deal would also involve the Falcons giving the 10th pick in the draft to Oakland, because face it Vick ain't worth Moss, Porter, and the top pick in the draft on his own. He's a second rate NFL QB who won't give up on collegiate style play and get with the pro game.

I agree that this trade could benefit both teams.
The Raiders are in desperate need of an upgrade at QB (even with the #1 pick in 2007 draft, rookie QB's tend to struggle). Moss and Porter are being wasted with no quality QB to get them the ball, and both of those players were obviously frustrated in their low personal production last season ...... so I'm sure they would welcome a trade to a team that could contend for a playoff spot. I think that Vick's rushing yardage would transfer to RB's and I'm sure Schaub's passing stats would more than make up for the difference. And Falcons would definitely benefit from getting Raider's first round draft pick ..... so if I was Atlanta's GM, I would accept that offer in a heartbeat.

I even heard Moss, Porter and the #1.

Only problem is, you're left with Moss and Porter...who are the exact same person as Vick...they just don't get to make any decisions.

I'd trade Vick for the #1 and a lesser receiever from a different team. Your backup, Schaub? is no slouch...i'd rather have him start than Vick anyways.
