Candyman scared me like a seven-year-old. I still can't turn off the bathroom light without first stepping out into the hallway.
An American Werewolf was an effective movie, because it combined the elements of comedy, romance, and violence to what might appear to be a mundane story.
Evil Dead II was hands-down the funniest horror movie I ever watched.
The best way to watch a horror movie is alone in the dark. Don't have your friends over to distract you, and don't watch it in the day when the whole room is lit up and there are things happening all over in your household.
So many people told me Candyman sucked, and I did an investigation into it. These are people with attention spans of circus monkeys. Never occured to them that if they want to be scared, they have to be focused.
Startled is one thing. Any idiot can be startled. Any genius can be startled. But to have your psyche violated... well, Candyman is the best for that.

Candyman! My uncle basically traumatized me as a child by lockin me in a small bathroom with the lights shut off and said Candyman five times. That movie still gives me the chills. Old but awesome. =]

I liked the Texas Chain Saw Massacre(not the real old one). It kept me on the edge throughout the whole movie. I also like Wrong Turn, that was a real good one.

I'm not sure what it was called...I saw it when I was 6yrs. old it's a clown that is like hell a crazy and starts killing kids(but they are actually grown ups in the movie) I think it was called IT? To this day I hate clowns...they're evil!

The Exorcist is the correct answer. Another great horror is Ju-On, the Japanese version not that crappy Grudge remake
