That depends on the person. I personally would never go natural. I don't see a reason to put myself through that kind of pain when I don't have to.
Going natural doesn't make you a better mother, nor does having an epidural make you a worse mother.
Go with what you feel is right. If you think you can handle the pain then go for it. If you don't think you'd do well with the pain, then go for the medication.

Only you will be able to decide and probably won't until that time. I went in with the intentions of totally natural (which is what I'm thinking again this time around), but after irregular contractions for two days and then going from 2 to 10 in about 4 hours, I had enough! I got an epidural and for some reason, it didn't take full effect so I did feel some pain during the pushing and contractions, but it was much more relieved pain. Now that I've experienced it once and know somewhat of the feeling and what to expect, I do plan to go in without medication again, but we'll see. My personal view (which is neither right or wrong) is that anytime you put medicine into your body, there's risk to both you and the baby, and regardless of how small those risks are, if I can handle things without the meds, that's my intentions. Good luck during your pregnancy and try to keep an open mind about delivery to keep your options open.

The first and foremost goal is a healthy pregnancy & birth.
I don't know anyone whose child is prettier, healthier, smarter, or more personable because they had a "natural" birth. I also don't know any mothers (and I know a lot of people) who even CARE how you had your baby. Women who brag about natural birth just annoy me, and I'm glad they have something to brag about, but I would rather see them able to brag about raising good kids. Non c-section births are faster to heal from, and c-sections can limit the number of pregnancies you can carry to term, but that is the only real difference.
Do what you want! Personally, epidurals allowed me to have a regular (not c-section) birth. If I had been in hard labor all those hours on my own, I would have been too exhausted to push the babies out. The only thing I disagree with is having any mind-altering medication that will go to the baby. Epidurals aren't in this category.
Also understand that a C-Section is actually a Caesarian-section, and it is called that because it has been around since the time of Caesar in ancient Rome. It has saved millions of mothers' and babies' lives, and it is a lot better option than a dead child.

The entire 9 months I said "No epidural, all natural". Did the classes and all of that. I thought for sure that having that epidural or anything meant that I could not handle giving birth, and if I couldn't handle that, then I couldn't handle being a mom.
I was wrong.
I ended up having a spinal for a C-section because she was ready and I, apparently, was not. So...do what you feel is right. If you feel you'll be able to push better without the pain of contractions, then go for it! Do what will make you most comfortable. Good luck!

go NATURAL... It is such a feeling of accomplishment when people find out u went ALL NATURAL! =)
Trust me. I've had 2 babies (my son is now 3 1/2 and my daughter is 1yr). I have BOTH babies all natural. No epidural, NOTHING. I'm not going to lie and say it doesnt hurt, cuz it does.. but knowing you brought that baby into the world with all the strength in your body, will definitely make you feel very good about yourself. And don't worry, you will have plenty of opportunities to change your mind when your in labor, the nurses will keep asking... =)
YOu can do it!! I am only 5feet, a very small person, so people are always amazed that i gave birth naturally with no pain killers, no epidural.
--good luck!

It is up to you. I had two children and I didn't have an epidural with either one. I was more afraid of someone sticking a needle in my back than I was of having a baby. It worked well for me, but I think I had easy deliveries both times. Discuss it with your doctor and see what your options are. Don't rule anything out. You may want to try to have the baby naturally, but if you decide that you want an epidural go for it. But don't just have the epidural because you are afraid of a little pain. If you have a good tolerance for pain then you won't need an epidural.

well, i can speak form experience. I have had 4 children, first 2 w/ epidural, and last 2 w/o. I personally prefer w/o because i do not like the way the epidural makes me feel. Plus, the pushing part is not help 100% by the epidural.
but I have SUPER short labor, like 4 hours right down to 1 1/2 hrs. If i had a 12 hour labor, i would DEF. get the epidural! do not let anyone make you feel you should not get an epidural. Learn about the pros and cons of both....and if you decide NOT to use it, you can always change your mind! good luck!

Define natural...
Out back in the bush no pain meds is natural, but not suggested hehe. If you mean without pain meds natural it depends on your tollerence to pain. If you mean vaginally natural sometimes you don't get a choice. Every child birth is natural in my opinion.. bringing a new baby into the world is something only we can do, it's natures way.

How can I tell you what is right for you?
Any medication, including epidurals is not without risks for both you and your baby, and though I am sure you think I am lying I didn't find childbirth painful BUT that is me, and my level or preparedness and not planning on being in a hospital and even when I did have to be there knowing what procedures are needed, and which will only add to my stress and make things more painful.
But I am me, and you are you. However I can tell you on thing.
KNOWLEDGE IS POWER! I can't stress enough that you need to empower yourself and learn as much as you can and do what is right for you and your baby. During pregnancy, during birth, and raising your kids.
Trust Birth!

Naturally meaning without pain medication in my opinion is one of worst ways of wording it. With or without medication giving birth is one of most 'natural' things in the world. The best advice is plan to do without an epidural but don't limit yourself to the option. You never know how well or how long you will have to deal with the pain.
