every MS OS except for win 95 Supports usb.. USB goes plug and play ( most devices) on Windows ME, 2000 and XP (all versions). in 98 we need to install the driver for the USB. detection is automatic in win 98.

Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows XP. Nothing prior to Windows 98 supports USB.

Windows 98 can work with USB after installing special driver.
Windows XP onwards all other OS can work wirh USB by default.

98, me, 2k nt, xp, vista ... all of them

i think u r having problem installing some of your device via usb.. trust me, its supported in windows and you just need a driver for that. search with the hardware name and model and install...
