I've explained this to many.....The only reason why Beyonce was featured as the "main actress" in the movie was for Marketing purposes. Jennifer is an up and coming star while Beyonce has a well established fan base, which would bring on more ticket sales. No wants to see a movie with an American Idol reject featuring a randb /pop superstar. But we will see an randb /pop superstar featuring an American Idol reject..... see my point. It's kinda crazy but that's the way America works. Sometimes Hollywood is more about popularity than talent....

Beyoncé was nominated for a Golden Globe (Best Actress), but she didn't win. It's Jennifer Hudson who won the Golden Globe (Best Supporting Actress), and now she has an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for "Dreamgirls."

p.s. - And yes, although I don't know if it actually was or not, Jennifer's role did seem bigger than Beyoncé's. What can I say? The girl has amazing stage presence.

Jennifer Hudson was definitely the main role in the movie. I deserve a nomination if Beyonce deserves one because I do my work halfassed each day and thats pretty much what she did . Since when do people deserve awards for doing what they do. You deserve awards and nominations when you do what you do above and beyond your norm.
