From my local newspaper's web site: "FOXSports.com, citing "NFL sources," reported that the Raiders are exploring a trade with the Atlanta Falcons that would send wide receivers Randy Moss and Jerry Porter, as well as the No.1 pick, to Atlanta in exchange for quarterback Michael Vick and the rights to the Falcons' first-round pick (No. 10 overall)."
Raider fans (or even non-Raider fans), what do you think of this possible trade? Personally, I think it's a bad idea. The Raiders need the #1 pick more than Vick. I do like the thought of unloading the worthless Moss, though. I would like them to keep Porter.

My left nut is a better QB then Vick.

Hopefully they will just use the pick to grab Jamarcus Russel - Faster - Younger - Better Arm - Better college stats

That would be a biggest trade in the NFL since Dallas traded Herschel Walker in 1989. The biggest problem with this proposed trade is the salary cap. A team trading a player must have the cap room to absorb the signing bonus acceleration. Vick signed a 10 year, $130 million contract in the end of 2004 so you would imagine the salary cap implications would be enormous.

If all the players involved were happy about their destinations (big IF), Atlanta would win out in this trade on the field. Atlanta has a NFL-ready QB in Matt Schaub who has shown to be a better passer than Vick when he was hurt. You add the current Atlanta running game and two big-play receivers, Atlanta would be immediate contenders for the Super Bowl in the weak NFC conference. Then you add the number one pick overall as icing on the cake.

Oakland would have a franchise QB who will run for his livelihood behind that horrendous offensive line. I could see Vick being on the injury list by the fourth week of the season (if not by the end of preseason). It would be cool to see Vick in a black Raiders jersey, but he'll be miserable as his offensive numbers plummet. And who is he going to throw to? Ronald Curry or Alvid Whitted?

If I was the Raiders, I would try to get Matt Schaub instead of Vick at a much cheaper price. Possibly trading Oakland's 1st pick overall for Atlanta's 10th pick and Schaub.

I think the Raiders and Al Davis prefer Jamarcus Russell over Brady Quinn right now. Russell is bigger and has a stronger arm. You know Davis likes QB's who can pass in a vertical system. To add, Russell outplayed Quinn in the Sugar Bowl. Also, there are questions if Quinn's stellar last two seasons were the result of Charlie Weis' system more than his ability. Quinn didn't perform as well against tougher competition this season (Michigan, USC and LSU) as he did against non-ranked opponents.

I'm an Atlanta fan and I'd love to see Vick go anywhere that wants him. We'll take the #1 pick and get rid of a big liability. I've heard that Oakland would trade Moss and the #1 pick in the draft to Atlanta for Vick and Atlanta's 1st round pick (#10)

I haven't heard about this. But it's a horrible trade idea. I don't understand why the Raiders would want Vick. Really in the NFL there aren't trades like this. The Raiders are trying to rebuild there image. And Vick isn't the answer.

Michael Vick should stay in Atlanta. He's a good player. And I think it's a bad idea, too. I understand they need to get rid of Moss but they need that first round pick.

The Raiders aren't actually looking for a Superstar player. They are looking for a player that is marketable, Vick whether you hate him or not is the most marketable player in the NFL. All his games are sold out and the Raiders are just looking for Revenue right now. The Owner of the Falcons(arthur Blank) denied these rumors and said Vick won't be traded.

If I were them I'd hold out for Brady Quinn or Jamarcus Russell. Vick is too selfish a player to rebuild a franchise on (although I agree that unloading the equally selfish Moss wouldn't hurt).

Make the trade and draft Marshawn Lynch with the #10 pick. Imagine an offense with Vick and Lynch under an offensive-minded coach: sounds better than a Lamont Jordan and (insert over-rated #1 qb here) duo next season.

I think that adding vick will only hurt them. I mean Vick hasn't really proven himself that much in Atlanta. I mean He is a good runner but his passing ability is much to be desired. I think they should just start fresh and get rid of moss.
