Is the cost of the product more important than the cost of shipping when buying online?

For example, would you rather pay more and get free shipping or would you rather purchase for less and pay the standard shipping costs?

What is the total cost? If something costs $10 with free shipping but it is $8 including shipping, I'll pay for shipping. Bottom line, show much are your actually paying?

BTW, the "free shipping" is probably added into the cost of the item. Nothing is "free."

I'd rather see what I'm buying in front of me before I commit to a purchase and allay the shipping costs altogether. It's a bit risky to put that credit card/debit card info on the web, so proceed with caution and watch for those hidden charges. That's how some of the lesser known companies make their money.
