Your sermon depends on the topic and if you are going to align it to a specific part of the bible. A good sermon explains what a bible reading means and teaches how to apply that teaching to ordinary life, theory and practice. To persuade people to do it, you need to give them logical reasons to , identifying reasons, and appeal to their emotions. For example, if you take the passage where Jesus became angry at the merchants in the temple - this was a moment of Justifiable anger - we have all felt anger but too often we are told its wrong to - but here is an example where even Jesus takes action on justifiable anger. He does not harm the merchants but he removes them for their wrong doing. The actual passage is the facts of what happened. Being angry is identifiable, its an emotion that we all deal with. Your sermon needs to teach how to deal with justifiable anger and how to right wrongs.

Find a topic you want to preach on. Study different parts of the Bible that would be relevant to the topic. Use specific verses to show the meaning of the topic you are talking about. Make up different points to get the topic across to people, so they understand it. Pray and ask the Lord to give you the words to say.
That's basically all there is to it.

Maybe you should go to a local Christian church and listen to the sermon the Pastor gives and make mental notes about it. You could also ask a Pastor (or someone else you know that is religious/goes to church) for help or ideas.

Well I would start with reading from the Bible take to heart what is read and explain how it inspires you...and elaborate from there putting it into laymens terms for everyone to understand. Let it gracefully go to what you want the church to gather from it. Remember it should inspire and encourage. Good Luck.

Like Paul would! See examples in the New Testament (The Book of Acts).
