I can only gather that Gore now finds it more fun, more fulfilling and satisfying, less stressful, more celebrated, better received, and more profitable, to stay in the film industry than be in the White House. Hey, his film received 2 nominations... definitely an amazing achivement for a first time director!

He - and we - would be better off if he just made a movie about being President, you know, where 9/11 happened and he made peace with the mullahs instead of fighting them, maybe instituted Sharia law in the US and ended all terrorist attacks that way, and forced people to live close to work and take shorter weekend vacations and we stopped getting hit by huge hurricanes?
Except that, we didn't put him in power and implement those changes in the real world, yet, in the real world, we DID stop getting hit by huge hurricanes.
People used to make fun of Reagan because he had been in the movies but Reagan never claimed to actually BE a hellcat from the Navy. Gore thinks his movie is real.

It would sure add more to the Hollywood squirm factor.. whether to come out for Hillary, Obama, or Gore. By not having Bush out there in '08 to rail against, and no clear Repub candidate, they'll have to pick sides early.

I wish he would run as well, but I am pretty sure that he won't run. He's made it pretty clear that he has no interest in running for office again.
