Big Bang -- a singularity in a vast vacuum?

Is there any physical evidence to suggest that empty space did not surround the dense matter that preceded the Big Bang? Why not use the basic model of a giant explosion into empty (or not empty) space. This model does not preclude a universal expansion of all particles (holons?). Isn't this a more elegant description than complex formulae of expanding 'spacetime'?
Why not simply say that the distance is growing between particles (objects, holons)? Thus, space itself has no properties. It is nothing. Only the particles within it have properties. Time is the motion of those particles since the Bang.

Please, no academic lectures on current theories or fundamentals of spacetime. (No strings or m-branes) Confine yourself to this theory and whether it is supportable by observation and calculation.

There's no argument against what you say. For some reason the physics people conclude that if a particular region didn't take part in the "big bang", it was not a part of space. I think it's an arbitrary convention.

What we know of as space *does* have properties, without which light would not propagate. So what you're describing is some fundamental nothingness, some form of Void. The big problem with that is that being without any properties, there is literally Nothing to observe, and therefore no way to confirm or deny its (non)existence.

Without observables, it's just metaphysics. And meanwhile, back in the physical world, you're still left with the conundrum of expanding spacetime.

So any question you ask about the big bang is irrelevent. The theory is totally useless and has as much to do with science as does flying pigs. It was proven wrong over 40 years ago, but there is a reason why it is forced on you in the public schools and colleges, AKA reeducation or propagada camps. You sound like a guy who knows something about science, so let me give you so questions to ponder, ask you science professor if he would like to answer these questions in class. Where did matter come from? Remember law 1 and 2 of thermodynamics. Also keep in mind Boil's law and Cole's law. If all this matter got together for a big skuish, a big spin, and a big bang, just how did that matter arrive on the scene? Let say it did happen, and it didn't. Apply the conservation of angular momentum to the big dud. If an object is spin in a frictionless enviornment and seperates, the fragments will be spinning in the same direction because the outside is moveing faster. So why do we have planets and moons orbiting and rotatating to other way? How do we get planets that have two moons, each orbiting in the opposite direction? All you know by a fossile is that something died. You don't even know where it died. You can't prove that that fossile had any kids, and you certainly can't prove that it had different kids. No one has ever seen a dog have a non-dog. And, in order for something to fossilize or petrify, it must be buried or submerged. Like what would happen in a big flood. All the buffulo that were killed in America and we almost never find buffulo fossiles. The whole evolution theory is a big lie ranking with the geocentric theory, flat earth, big/small object fall speed, and letting blood. The only evolution that ever happens is micro changes. I believe that the dog, coyotte, wolf, and maybe even hyena have a common ancestor, but it was a dog. Stand back and look at them, they are all the same kind of animal. God gave the different kinds a varied gene code to insure that some of the kind would be able to survive. With the word christmas you can make all kinds of words-car, sam, this, ect. But you will never get xxerox, zebra, or queen. Because the letters are not available. Animals only bring forth after there kind. There are about 50 or more lies used in the textbooks to support the evolution theory. The geologic column is like the bible of the evolutionist. Radio carbon dating does, [potasium argon date and none other the others work. They pick the answers base on where they think it should be on the geologic column. I've seen living snials date 27,000 years old. The world is only about 6,000 years old. Count the nova rings man. No one has ever seen a star evolve. Some like to think they are in crab nebbula, but all they are really seeing is a light get brighter. Probloly just some space dust moving out of the way. Every 25-30 years star blow up. Count the nova rings and do the math and it adds up to a few thousand years like the bible says. Not billions and millions of years. Go back in time millions of years and the moon would be sitting on the earth. The sun would be so big that the earth would be burn. There is oxygen found in rocks in all the lowest layers.
