It's amazing what people think the law is a capable of....
As a physician I have taken an oath to treat and care for the sick an injured.
There is no law that requires me to provide care for someone. I can chose not to provide care, I can also chose to disengage care.
Pediatricians have specialized training in treating diseases that are specific to children, however a family practitioner can treat children, as do emergency medicine physicians, surgeons, hematologists etc.......
My personal opinion... the world will be a much better place when people stop looking to the law to answer their questions.....

children ought to bypass to pediatricians because pediatricians are docs who specialise in youngster's well being. No different professional is conscious extra about what a baby needs than a pediatrician. youngster's well being subject matters are truly diverse from those of grown adults, that's why there is even a speciality, which contain pediatrics, contained in the first position. If children didn't want a particular type of healthcare specialist, there does no longer be an finished medical container for it.

NO LAW REQUIRES ANY DOCTOR TO TREAT ANYONE--they decide who their patients are going to be, NOT YOU. And if you cannot pay, obviously you should not expect treatment.
The law says people cannot be denied treatment in the case of an emergency, life-threatening condition. This applies to hospital ERs.

No, certainly not. But if he has undertaken all of that specialized training and is fully cognizant of children's disorders and diseases, he would be a fool for that is where his greatest earning potential lies.It is a recognized fact that while general practitioners also treat children, they always refer them to a ped. when deemed important. He is a specialist and earns more money and respect for same.

Pediatrician specializes with kids but can do anyone of any age.
If you walk into a Pediatricians office....must they accept you? No, its a private business and they can refuse service to anyone they so choose.
Walk into a public hospital and they cannot deny you. Even without money or insurance.

No, my children see a general practice doctor who specializes in peds. Before they just seen a general practice doctor. That is your choice. Ped doctors tend to know more about children but the general practice knows about all the general stuff.

I don't think so. I'm eighteen and I still go to my pediatrician... I don't think there's an age limit on who a doctor can treat. It just means that they specialize in children's medicine.
Hope that helps.
