Things would get messed up
Guamines and Adenines - Cytosines and Thymines would start pairing together. They might even pair to themselves.
What would happen , I'm not sure, as of right now it's impossible because the bases don't match.

You would end up with a mutation in the pattern. Frameshift, missense, etc. However, there are methods in place to excise the mispaired pair, or replace one of the 2 in the pair with the correct pairing.
