I test the water with my wrist, and if it feels warm enough, not too hot, then you're good. My Dr. said a lot of moms don't get it warm enough for fear of burning the baby, and that as long as it's not too hot, you're fine. Don't know the exact temp, but comfortable.

I put in about three inches of water, and just stay there all the time to supervise. If the baby can sit up, they can sit and play with toys (anything plastic and safe that won't mildew). My baby has always loved bath time, and gets fussy if she hears the tub running because she wants in it.

Her toys are: rubber ducky, little pitcher to pour water, a cup, and anything else that she wants to take to the tubby with her that day (as long as it's watersafe).

OK, you are micromanaging the bath a little too much. The water should be a normal warm temperature which you should be able to assess as an adult. I put about 4 inches of water in with my 8 month old but I sit right next to the tub the whole time. He doesn't get any tub toys yet; the sheer joy of splashing in the water, bending over and slurping it, etc, is more than enough entertainment for him. When I do give him something to play with it will be cups for scooping and pouring the water.

1) The water can be a little warmer then it was when you bathed him as a newborn. Stick your elbow in the water and if it's chilly when you take your arm out it's probably a little cold.

2) You really don't need that much. Maybe 2 or 3 inches of water in the tub is all you need.

3) Rubber duckies, squirty toys, anything plastic that won't be bothered if it gets wet.

Babytime is great fun for kids. Make the water lukewarm, you can test it with your elbow or your wrist. You can also buy at the drugstore a "duck" thermometer, the temperature should be 90 F or 32.3 C.
Floating toys, anything colorful. Ducks, fish, etc...
Just put enough water in to cover his tummy, stay close, don't leave the room and remember this is fun!

1) lukewarm. test water with your elbow to check if it feels hot or cold or just right

2) i dont think u should bath u r baby in the bath tub. Instead get the small baby tubs and fill it just upto its belly.

3) rubber toys. such as rubber ducky. do not have more than 2 toys since babies get spoiled and it might be a bad habbit to let go.

1.the temperature of the water should be warm to your inner wrist, not hot.
2. The water should be just enough to bathe him and not over his waist
3. toys I would say rubber duck (good old standard) or I got my little girl a frog that is terry cloth and when you squeezed his middle he croaked. Department stores carry a lot of baby bath toys but I find they love just playing with the wash cloth.
4. You shouldn't leave babies this small in the water too long they pee in it and any toy you put in the water with them goes straight into their mouth so that it pretty gross.

My son is seven months and we use a bath/room thermometer to take the guesswork out of the water temp. (Makes me feel better when my husband draws the bath). We got one at Target http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=1-14/qid=1169663136/ref=sr_1_14/602-2758055-1085421?ie=UTF8&asin=B000B8YGZ6

I put in about six inches of water, which is great for splashing and use an inflatable baby tub (also from Target--just love that store!) http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=1-1/qid=1169663288/ref=sr_1_1/602-2758055-1085421?ie=UTF8&asin=B000066665. The sides are soft so I don't worry about bumping his head and it saves water too because you don't need a lot to fill it.

We use cups, soft toys, really anything that is waterproof. At this age, they are just loving the bath, and the toys aren't as important.

No matter what, don't leave the baby alone (I know everyone says this, but my brother, who is a paramedic, has had to save babies who have slipped underwater in the bathtub when their mothers just popped around the corner to grab a towel.) My son is a squirmy one, and I know he would be headfirst in just a second if I left him.

the temp of the water should be around 100 degrees Fahrenheit. they sell lots of bath toys that have a temp gauge on them. i still use one w/my 17mo old.

bath water i say should be around his belly button if he is sitting down providing he sits up by himself well.

my son liked to play with balls in the tub at his age. they also have cups with holes at the bottom that they also can have a good time with. just keep the toys simple and don't overload him.

good luck and enjoy bath time they have soooo much fun in there.

there should only be 4 inches of water in the tub. the water i like how you test you milk on you rist then you can tell if it is to hott or not. a rubber ducky is good a wash cloth for baby is always good for many reasons it teaches them to splash water they like that. they teeth on them . go to a wal-mart they have bath toys in baby section.
