Good Friday is April 6. That means fewer conventions will be scheduling for that week. Just like around Christmas -- conventions shy away from the major holidays.

The same reasons hotel rooms anywhere have cheaper peroids: less demand. If you are seeing lower rates or special offers for all or most hotels in Las Vegas over a set period of time, this is just an indicator that it's not an especially popular time to visit. For example: Thanksgiving week. The M-Th part of this week will be well under normal rates as there are not many people visiting, however, come Friday the rates will jump up above the average as everyone starts coming to town. Likewise look at the rates for New Years Eve! All just an issue of how many people are trying to get rooms.

And, as already mentioned, Las Vegas will generally offer their accomodations for less than you would find them in other cities as this is often part of the marketing to bring people to the casino. However, this is less so in recent years as many of the resorts now make a substantial portion of their revenue outside of gambling (though they definitely still want you to gamble!).

Las Vegas hotels are often really cheap, because they want to get you there so you can spend all of your money at the casino!

the first answer is correct and to add to that April is not the main tourist month so prices are usually cheaper also if you stay during the week and not the weekend they are cheaper too
