Our banking sector has been competing with foreign banks since long. It is not a new thing. There were several banks operating in India with full fledge operations. These include Citibank, HSBC, Amex, ABN Amro, Deutsche bank et al.

Indian banking is robust and active in all segments and sectors. There are several big indian banks operating efficiently right from pre-independence days.

There should not be any doubt in anybody's mind about competitiveness of indian banks. They have got a wide and in-depth reach and network in India, staff quality is satisfactory, financial ratios are slowly but surely going positive way. Yes, Indian banking can compete with the best in the world.
