It seems real tight to me with Giuliani taking the northern primaries (as he is more liberal), Mitt Romney taking the South (he is the religious conservative), and McCain taking the West (he is from the West). What are your thoughts?

Romney won't take the South. He does bring in the $$$ though and I think he'll be a VP candidate.

I like Rudy but his candidacy reminds me so much of Lindsey....

I think McCain is unstoppable. The GOP will take the South in the final election no matter whom they nominate, and they need to shore up the West and try not to fall below 45% of the female vote.

By the way I never quite understood why if one party wins close to 60% of the male vote and the second wins about 56% of the female vote, that's the first party having a problem attracting women rather than the second party having a problem attracting men. The Dems appear to "get this" now, putting up a real gruff tuff-guy to respond to the POTUS last night. But I don't vote based on gruff-tuff-guy, I vote based on understanding and honesty with respect to economic issues, and Webb gave the same old "two Americas" crap that is completely refuted by every shred of data on the subject. 4.4% unemployment means all but the temporarily displaced and the truly dysfunctional are working.

Giuliani is the front runner at this early point in time, and Republicans will eventually have to back the most likely winner, even if he doesn't represent the values and beliefs of many voters in the less populated areas of the country (meaning about everything except the east and west coasts).

Look for midwesterners to back McCain as long as they believe he can beat the Democrat nominee. We don't really want Giuliani, and McCain looks like a far better choice and the only viable alternative at this time.

it's still a long time off, and a lot can change.. but as of this moment I would say McCain has the best shot.

Doesn't matter.

The democrats are going to run Obama, Hillary or Kerry, perhaps some combination of them. Against that, the Republicans could run any random white guy who wasn't a KKK member and win.
