If your phone is locked to the T-Mobile network or was locked to it ,it is a standard setting which you wont be able to delete I had a Motorola V300 like that and I couldnt remove the T-Mobile start up jingle no matter what I tried

I've got a Motorola RAZR V3i - and when I turn it off, I make sure it's on Vibrate or Silent, then when it starts up it doesn't make a noise. Try that with your Nokia E50. I'm on T-Mobile too!
